Parkour Parks & fixed Freerunning Installations

With the explosion of interest in the sport of Parkour and Freerunning from young people right across the UK, many local authorities and leisure providers are seeking guidance on how to incorporate provisions for this activity into their development strategies. If this describes your situation, we can help!

Unlike more established activities such as BMX and Skateboarding, there is very little data available on what is required to make a parkour/freerunning park which is both safe and exciting enough for the intended participants to keep coming back. Most of the ‘experts’ you’ll find are affiliated with their particular brand of parkour based play equipment and therefore it is difficult for them to give an unbiased opinion. Street Motion is not in the business of producing/reselling parkour/freerunning equipment nor are we affiliated with any other brands. This means we will give you honest advice in plain English which will save you money both up front and in the long term.

We have been at the forefront of the Parkour/Freerunning movement since it first came to the UK over 8 years ago. As well as providing coaching services in a professional context, many of our experts regularly train parkour out on the streets for their own recreation. This gives us tremendous insight into how the sport is continuing to develop as well as the kind of structures and environment that practitioners of the sport would like to see recreated in an artificial context.

The business of parkour structures/play equipment is a rapidly growing market and many of the established providers of play equipment have been quick to release new parkour/freerun branded products. Likewise many new companies are also making similar offerings. Some of these products are very good whilst others have totally failed to grasp the concept.

Without an in-depth working knowledge on the subject it is impossible to make an informed decision and the wrong choices at the planning stage could see thousands of pounds spent on a play area that nobody wants to use. Our Consultants have worked on a number of prestigious projects including the London Olympic village. We have the expertise you need to help you make the right decisions from the outset allowing you to create a play space which stays within budget and exceeds expectations.
