Parkour & Freerunning in Schools

Looking for a safe and exciting way to engage students in sport and regular physical activity?

Street Motion has the answer.

Results from a recent survey indicated that Parkour/Freerunning is one of the most requested activities from students in schools and colleges in England. Parkour/Freerunning offers a full body work out that few other sports can match whilst remaining very popular with students who would normally shy away from mainstream sports.

We have worked with a number of schools including Dartmouth Academy, Sir John Hunt School, Marine Academy Plymouth, West Exe Technology College and South Dartmoor Community College and Steiner School to deliver safe and structured Parkour/Freerunning activities in a controlled indoor environment utilizing standard gym equipment.

Parkour is great for developing explosive power, core strength, balance and flexibility; transferable skills applicable to all other sports. Although suitable for anyone with a basic level of fitness, Parkour/Freerunning often appeals to students who would not normally engage in traditional sports.

Originating in Paris, Parkour (also known as Freerunning) is a relatively new urban sport which demands high levels of strength and agility to pass over obstacles presented by the surrounding landscape. Although it is often practiced amongst groups, Parkour is a non-competitive sport where the primary focus is on personal development both physically and mentally to push oneself to achieve new ways of moving which may have previously seemed impossible.

Street Motion is able to provide experienced NGB qualified coaches to deliver Parkour/Freerunning training at your school, college or university either on a one off or regular basis. All coaches hold a current enhanced CRB certificate and are covered under our public liability insurance.

Our standard package includes a 5 week block of sessions 1 hour per week during the school day as part of a scheduled PE class,  however we can also organise after school clubs or activity day/week sessions subject to availability.
