YOUNG people and adults with a passion for extreme sports can take part in the new classes where the art of spinning, jumping and stunts can be learned from some of the best in the fields.
South Devon club Street Motion is leading the free running classes and former world champion BMX rider Kye Forte lends his expertise to the BMX and skateboarding classes.
The new subsidised schemes have been made possible by the national Sportivate project, run by Sport England with financial support from the National Lottery. Backed by Teignbridge Council, the sports were chosen after consultation with local youngsters about the things they’d most like to try. The six-week programme of free running sessions, run by Street Motion instructors, starts on Thursday, October 6, at Coombeshead College. Classes for 12-to-17 year olds will be from 7.30pm and classes for 18-to-25 year olds will run for an hour from 8.30pm.
